Continuing education at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
Would you like to establish yourself, develop further or specialize? Do you want to combine your own experience with knowledge from research? Then you've come to the right place. Our continuing education programs specialize in three important areas and enjoy an excellent reputation:
- In African Studies, you can acquire a CAS in African Affairs and Intercultural Competence. Tailor-made courses are also available for companies, NPOs and public authorities.
- You can acquire diversity and equal opportunity skills in a CAS offered by the Center for Gender Studies in cooperation with the Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz FHNW and the Zürcher Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften ZHAW.
- In the area of Peacebuilding, you can choose from modular continuing education programs (CAS, DAS, MAS), which are jointly supervised by the Swiss Peace Foundation swisspeace and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
- In the field of cultural management, you can also undertake modular continuing educations (CAS, DAS, MAS) - the program is specifically geared towards current issues and is based on a culturally reflective management approach.
In addition to current professional requirements, the latest research in the respective areas is always the benchmark and reference system for the course content.
Target group
Continuing education is aimed at people with professional experience who have completed a university degree or equivalent educational background, have an appointment and are looking for new prospects. A continuing education course builds directly on professional experience and expands the first degree course in an interdisciplinary way. It is aimed at students who are already familiar with the basic concepts and methods of academic work and university learning and have a lasting interest in continuing education at university level.
