The Faculty Board advises the Dean's Office and comments on all issues it deems important. In particular, it deals with issues relating to structural and resource planning as well as the use and distribution of the Faculty's financial resources.

The Faculty Board consists of the Dean, Dean of Studies, Dean of Research, the heads of the five departments, one representative each from Groups II to V and - in a counseling capacity - the Equal Opportunity Commissioner of the Faculty and the Managing Director of the Faculty.

The Faculty Board

• prepares the Faculty Development and Structure Plan (ESP) for the Faculty Assembly with the involvement of the Departments and Groups,
• approves the annual budget allocations to the organizational units of the Faculty,
• decides on the use of freely available provisions and regularly reports on this to the Faculty Assembly,
• takes note of the accounts and takes measures within the framework of controlling,
• proposes the appointment of structural commissions to the Faculty Assembly, comments on the structural reports and applies for their approval by the Faculty Assembly,
• grants teaching authorization to assistant lecturers at the request of the departments
• and is responsible for the Faculty's website.

The exact tasks of the Faculty Board are regulated in the Faculty regulations § 24.
