"Phil" is your friend for studying at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Basel.

Our free web app offers you the following features:

• Quick overview of your current notifications, appointments and events
• Appointment calendar with the event dates of your departments, your timetable, important dates and deadlines of the faculty, e.g. for BA/MA exams and degree applications and with your consultation hour dates
• Import function for your timetable
• Entry of further dates
• Registration for graduation ceremonies and other events
• Registration for office hours with the student administration, administrative staff, your professorships and lecturers
• Register for consultation appointments at the university's Language Center
• Direct access to booked video consultations (including group consultations) from the app
• Simple check-in to attendance lists for courses via integrated QR code scan function
• Participation in voting and appointment surveys via web link and integrated QR code scan function
• Automated email notifications about your registrations and important status updates
• Configurable push notifications including associated message management in the app (new, noted, read)
• Storage of individual quick links and main menu items
• Memo list and note function
• News, events and links of your departments or selected study programs

Since the beginning of 2023, you can also use certain features of the Phil app as a student of another faculty or university - and also as an AlumniBasel member. Since the beginning of 2024, "Phil" has been further developed as a pure web app.

You can access the Phil web app at https://philapp.io and use it on any device with a reasonably up-to-date browser and any operating system - e.g. smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops.

Our aim is to continuously develop the app and add useful features for you. You can support us in this by using and recommending the app and with your feedback.
