Safety and Emergency
The University of Basel takes the necessary measures to ensure the occupational safety and health protection of its co-workers.
The safety officers and contact persons for occupational safety receive regular training and are the contact persons in their organizational unit. Our co-workers are also instructed and informed as part of our quality management.
Safety rules and information on general safety
- Familiarize yourself with the escape routes and emergency exits as well as the locations of the extinguishing equipment in the building. Observe the signage in the building and on the floors.
- In the case of emergencies, accidents or other incidents, the security service (security officer (SiBe) and/or janitor) must be informed immediately.
- Signs of danger, faults and leaks in pipes and equipment must be registered immediately with the supervisor or janitor.
- Doors, passages, emergency exits, fire extinguishing points and switch and fuse boxes must be kept clear at all times.
- Pay attention to fire and explosion protection, safety equipment and earthing. Protect yourself from accidents and injuries.
