Researchers from numerous disciplines work at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, from ancient civilizations, history, philosophy, art and media studies to social sciences and linguistics and literature. They conduct collaborative and individual research on the central challenges of our time as well as on the burning questions of the past.

Research at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is interdisciplinary, interdepartmental, interfaculty, nationally and internationally networked and includes large-scale projects and individual grants as well as numerous collaborative and individual projects. The Faculty also attaches particular importance to career advancements.

Faculty Fund for Ukrainian Researchers at Risk

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Basel is raising a «Faculty Fund for Ukrainian Researchers at Risk» to provide qualified individuals who have fled Ukraine (Status S) with the opportunity to continue their academic activities and research projects at the Faculty on an interim basis.
